How Client Reporting Tools Price Dashboards and Sources
Reporting tools for agencies rarely charge per seat. They charge per dashboard, per connected data source, or per client account, and the three units give very different invoices at the same client count. Databox Agency starts at $79 a month on annual billing, DashThis Professional is $139, and Swydo is $62 plus $4.50 for each source past the tenth. Three vendor pages read October 27, 2026.
This article is a documentation review: it is based on the vendors' own published pages, checked on the date shown. We may earn a commission from some links; it never affects what we recommend.
Client reporting tools are the rare corner of business software where the seat is not the billing unit. Read three of these pricing pages together and the meter sits on a dashboard, a connected data account, or a client.
Databox states plainly in its own FAQ that it "doesn't charge per seat". Its Agency plan is listed at $79 a month on annual billing with unlimited users and 20 data sources.
DashThis sells dashboards and sources in fixed bundles, from $44 a month paid yearly. Swydo sells one plan at $62 a month paid yearly and then charges per data source above ten.
All three pages were read on October 27, 2026.
A data source is an account, not a platform
Every vendor here defines the unit the same way, and it is not the one most buyers assume. A source is one connected account, not one integration type.
DashThis states it directly: "Each unique data account counts as one source, regardless of how many dashboards or widgets use it." Archived or inactive sources do not count toward the limit.
Databox puts the same rule in a sharper example. Its page states that each account or property counts as one, "so 3 GA4 properties equal 3 data sources".
Swydo's page gives the arithmetic an agency will actually hit: "Connect 10 clients to both Google Ads and Facebook Ads, that's 20 data sources."
So the number that drives the bill is clients multiplied by platforms per client. A ten-client roster on three platforms is thirty sources, not three.
That is a third billing unit alongside seats and contacts, and it behaves like the credit model described in per seat, per contact, per credit.
Databox prices accounts in packs and hides a 20 percent toggle
The Databox pricing page defaults to annual billing with a toggle labelled "Save 20%". The plan cards therefore show the discounted figures, while the page's own FAQ quotes the monthly ones.
- Free: $0 forever, with 1 user, 3 data sources, 1 dashboard, 10 custom metrics and 50 AI credits a month.
- Analyst: $71 a month billed annually, with 1 user, 5 data sources and 150 AI credits a month.
- Team Core: $199 a month billed annually on the card, $249 a month in the FAQ, with 3 users, 10 data sources and 500 AI credits.
- Team Scale: $319 a month billed annually on the card, $399 in the FAQ, with 10 users, 30 data sources and 1,000 AI credits.
- Agency: starting at $79 a month billed annually, $99 in the FAQ, with unlimited users, 20 data sources and 300 AI credits.
Those pairs are consistent rather than contradictory. Twenty percent off $249 is $199.20, off $399 is $319.20, and off $99 is $79.20, which is where each card figure comes from.
Growth on the Agency plan is sold in account packs. The page prices a pack at $20 a month on annual billing, $25 in the FAQ, and each pack adds 1 account, 5 data sources and 50 AI credits.
The same page lists optional add-ons at $200 a month for an AI credit top-up, $160 for a fiscal calendar, $80 for branding and white-labeling, $40 for advanced security management and $14 for OKRs.
Credits are their own meter inside the plan, which is the pattern covered in what AI costs inside a plan you already pay for.

DashThis sells dashboards, and one dashboard means one client
DashThis is explicit that "a dashboard is simply one marketing report" and that users "usually create one dashboard per client". The tier you need is therefore set by headcount of clients, not staff.
Individual is $54 a month billed monthly or $44 paid yearly, with 3 dashboards and 15 sources. Professional is $164 or $139 paid yearly, with 10 dashboards and 40 sources.
Business is $324 or $279 paid yearly, with 25 dashboards and 100 sources. The top self-serve tier is named Standard at $499 or $429 paid yearly, with 50 dashboards.
Each card also prints a yearly saving, and all four check out by hand. The gaps of $10, $25, $45 and $70 a month multiply to the advertised $120, $300, $540 and $840 a year.
Users are unlimited on every tier. AI Insights Pro is an add-on at $19 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, per the same page.
One oddity is worth noting before anyone sorts a quote by tier name. Standard is the most expensive plan on this page, sitting above Business rather than below it.
The source allowance on that top tier sits inside a slider widget on the page, and we could not isolate a single value for it on October 27, 2026.
Swydo charges once and then meters the sources
Swydo runs the opposite model: one plan, all features, and a per-source rate. The page advertises "No per-client fees" and unlimited clients, users, dashboards and reports.
The base is $69 a month billed monthly or $62 a month billed annually, under a toggle marked "Save 10%". Ten percent off $69 is $62.10, so the pair agrees.
The first 10 data sources are included. Sources 11 to 100 are $4.50 each, 101 to 500 are $3.00 each, and 501 or more are $2.00 each.
The page also prints an illustrative added cost of $12.15 a month per client. The source count behind that figure did not render, so treat it as the vendor's example rather than a rate.

Thirty clients reorders all three vendors
The arithmetic below is ours, not the vendors'. It uses annual-billing rates read on October 27, 2026 and assumes two connected accounts per client and one dashboard per client.
- Ten clients, 20 sources: Databox Agency $79 a month, DashThis Professional $139, Swydo $62 plus 10 extra sources at $4.50, or $107.
- Twenty clients, 40 sources: Databox Agency $79 plus four account packs at $20, or $159; DashThis Business $279; Swydo $62 plus $135, or $197.
- Thirty clients, 60 sources: Databox Agency $79 plus eight packs, or $239; DashThis Standard $429; Swydo $62 plus $225, or $287.
- A solo operator testing the idea: Databox Free at $0 with 3 sources and 1 dashboard is the only permanent free option of the three.
The cheapest vendor changes twice across that range. Databox leads on raw source capacity, DashThis leads for a very small roster, and Swydo's flat base only pays off when source counts stay low.
Packs and bundles both behave like floors once bought, which is the pattern set out in what a minimum seat count does to small team pricing.
Mid-year client wins land on these meters immediately. How mid-term seat changes are prorated covers how vendors bill capacity added between invoices.
What we could not read
AgencyAnalytics belongs in any comparison of this category and is not here. Its pricing page returned an empty document to a headless Chrome request on two attempts on October 27, 2026.
Whatagraph is absent for a similar reason: its page rendered without a readable price table. Neither absence means the vendor keeps prices private, only that we could not read them on the day.
Four lines to settle before you sign
- How the vendor counts a data source, and how many accounts each client will actually need connected.
- Whether the headline figure assumes annual billing, and what the monthly rate is if cash flow needs it.
- What a client added in month four costs, whether that is a pack, a tier jump or a per-source rate.
- Which features sit outside the plan as paid add-ons, including branding, security controls and AI credits.
Discounts on these pages are all annual-billing discounts, so the sticker price is already the discounted one. What annual billing discounts actually save on SaaS shows how to check the claim by hand.
Source and credit caps also behave differently from seat caps when you cross them, as covered in what happens when a SaaS usage limit runs out.
Trials differ too. Swydo offers 14 days with no card, Databox publishes a permanent free tier, and the trade-off is set out in free trial or free plan.
Reporting is usually bought next to delivery tooling, so price both together. How to compare project management software pricing covers the seat-based half of that bill.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Databox cost for an agency?
The Agency plan starts at $79 a month on annual billing, which the page's FAQ gives as $99 a month otherwise. It includes unlimited users, 20 data sources and 300 AI credits, with account packs at $20 a month each.
Does DashThis charge per user?
No. The page lists unlimited users on every tier and prices by dashboards and sources instead, from $44 a month paid yearly for 3 dashboards up to $429 for 50, as read October 27, 2026.
Is Swydo cheaper than Databox?
Only at low source counts. By our arithmetic on October 27, 2026 rates, 20 sources cost $107 a month on Swydo against $79 on Databox Agency, and the gap widens as sources grow.
What counts as a data source?
One connected account, not one platform. DashThis states each unique data account counts once however many widgets use it, and Databox states three GA4 properties equal three data sources.
Is there a free client reporting tool?
Databox publishes a permanent Free tier at $0 with 1 user, 3 data sources, 1 dashboard and 50 AI credits a month. DashThis and Swydo offer trials rather than free tiers.
Do these tools charge extra for white-labeling?
Databox lists branding and white-labeling as an $80 a month add-on. Swydo includes full white-labeling in its single plan, per the pages read October 27, 2026.
Bottom line
Count sources before you read prices. Clients multiplied by connected accounts is the only input that matters on all three of these pages, and it is the number a sales call will ask for last.
Then price the roster you expect in a year, not the one you have. These plans step up in jumps, and the second year is billed at the step you reached.
All figures reflect the vendors' own pages as read on October 27, 2026 and exclude tax. Prices change without notice, and the checkout total is the only one that settles a disagreement.
